This is the development stages of using mixed media to create a crab that uses watercolor and acrylic paint. This shows the development/testing stage of different ways to create this crab. It helped me figure what looks best and how to use each technique to achieve what i wanted.
Final/After
This is my final work of my crab. From my development stage to my final work I learned that to use mixed media you need to paint your background with watercolor first then you need to draw what you want to make on the paper then lastly put the acrylic paint on top. I learned you need to be patient on each step and see what ways look best.
Work/Before
This is my development stage of using drawling to create my zodiac sign, a Leo, that uses colored pencil. This shows my development/testing stage of different ways to create this crab. It helped me realize that i didn't like the look of just colored pencil so i tested out some paint in the top left corner.
Final/After
This is my final work of my lion for which i used acrylic paint and colored pencil. From my development stages to my final work i learned how to make it precise and how to mix colors to get the right color you need. Also learned that i didn't like the look of just colored pencil so i used another media to achieve the look i wanted
Work/Before
This is the development stages of creating an element work using lines and color. In this development stage i tested out different shapes and different ways to add a pop of color to make it more bright. I had no really reference picture to go from so it took me a long to figure out what lines I wanted and where to put them.
Final/After
This is my final work of my element project. From the development stage to my final work i learned out to use the space of my paper better and how to place the paint in certain ways to achieve the look i want
Work/Before
This was my first art project. We were told to create a college of images from a magazine. My immediate thought was to do images that look like hands making a heart because i have been seeing that done everywhere. But i wanted to put a twist on it and do the images in a rainbow pattern. After i was done i wanted to fill the white space so i just created different colors with my favorite colors. It did not turn out how i imagined but i learn that i needed a plan before each work and get all my supplies together.
Final/After
This was my final work for my college project. I like some parts of this work but also i dont like the other parts of this work. I got the idea from my mom because she did something like this but i put my own twist in it by putting it in a mason jar. It took a lot of work to figure out where everything should go. From my before work i learned to lay it all out on the paper to see if you like it them glue. Also i learned if your gluing something on a paper, always do your background first.
Work/Before
This is a graphite artwork that is a drawing of graceful versus ungraceful. This was by-far my favorite piece to create. Because i can relate to the work to how when i play volleyball im "ungraceful" but when im not playing im "graceful".
Final/After
From my devlopment stage i leaarned how to make my work cleaner but making the lines the same and how to properly learn how to shade to make it look like the shadow from the floor. I loved how this turned out.

FINAL PROJECT
Final/After
My final project was a set of three photos that create one "story." It's a graphite drawing of a calla lily. The first picture (on the left) is a drawing of a calla lily, the second drawing is the pedals of the calla lily flying away in the air, and the last image (on the right) is one single pedal in my hand. I got the idea to do this drawing is because my middle name is calla and it was named after the calla lily and its my favorite flower.
Some things i learned in art 1 that i couldn't do it before was shading, how to make a clay sculpture, and how to properly use watercolor. Before this class i didn't know how to make a drawing look more dimensional but after this class i learned how to shade and use highlights to create a more dimensional look. Also before this class i always wanted to know how to make a clay sculpture but i didn't know the steps to create it, and now i know how to create a clay sculpture and how to paint it. Lastly, before this class i didn't know what watercolor was but now i do and now i know how to make a gradient. I think how to shade will always stick with me because i used it so much in my projects that now it's like a second nature to me in every art project. My most proud work is my "graceful verses not graceful" which is my graphite drawling of a ballet shoe and a converse shoe. This is my most proud art piece because i had so much fun drawling this and i can relate to this work a lot. Also i think that art piece was my best work that i created in the sense of it being technical. I think my collection of art shows my creative side of me and says that grew a lot from my first artwork to my final project. I had so fun creating each work and maybe i'm not the best at creating art but i have so fun making each piece and putting my own twist on each work.
